There were so many great cheap and free events for St. Patrick's Day that I'm skipping the regular weekend picks and providing you with at St. Patrick's Day guide instead. You may not find a real pot of gold to help you through the recession, but here are some suggestions to get you in the mood for the holiday!

If you're up for the ferry ride enjoy Irish music in Staten Island. Beer, wine, and hot mulled cider will be for sale.
